30 Rock comic Tracy Morgan was not wearing a seatbelt in a car accident that left him badly injured, according to papers filed in a US court.

Walmart - owners of the truck that crashed into the star's limousine bus - contend his injuries and the death of a passenger were partly their own fault.
Truck driver Kevin Roper has denied death by driving, while authorities found he was speeding.
Morgan's lawyers are seeking compensation from retailer Walmart.
Responding to Walmart's latest claims, they called the contentions "surprising and appalling".
Lawyer Benedict Morelli said: "It's not what they said they were going to do initially, which was take full responsibility. I'm very upset, not for myself but for the families I represent.''

Chinese cinema box office revenue has surged 32% in the first nine months of the year, figures show.

Takings have reached 21.6bn yuan (£2.16bn) so far, already nearly equalling 2013's full-year total of 21.8bn (£2.18bn) yuan.
The best performing movie of 2014 to date is Transformers: Age of Extinction, which took 1.98bn yuan (£198m).
The top 10 was split evenly between domestic and Hollywood blockbusters.
Fantasy 3D epic The Monkey King, directed by Hong Kong's Poi Soi Cheang, was the highest grossing domestic movie with 1.04bn yuan (£104m)

eBay to split off PayPal business

The online auction site eBay is planning to split off its payments system PayPal into a separate company.

It expects to do that in the second half of 2015.
EBay's chief executive John Donahoe said: "A thorough strategic review... shows that keeping eBay and PayPal together beyond 2015 clearly becomes less advantageous to each business strategically and competitively."
PayPal's revenues are growing at 19% a year, twice as quickly as eBay's.
Its payment system is available in 203 markets worldwide and is expected to process 1 billion mobile payments this year.

Occupy Central has called on Mr Leung to meet protesters in person on Tuesday night.
During a news conference, the pro-democracy group also said it would open "humanitarian corridors" in protest areas to allow emergency vehicles to pass.

Since approximately May of this year, West had made several trips to the college, which specializes in designing apparel. Photos uploaded to the web portray Kanye mid-lecture, appearing passionate about the subject. Insiders at Beats and Apple say that the tech giant will discontinue Beats’ relatively new streaming service.
Last week, we learned that Dr. Dre’s veritable unicorn of an album, previously thought to be titled Detox, will probably arrive under another title, and today comes the news that you may not be able to stream said album on Dre’s own streaming service. Beats Music, a subscription-based streaming service announced by Dre and Jimmy Iovine in January (and bought by Apple in May), will be shutting down in the near future, according to a TechCrunch report.

Beyoncé And Jay Z Working On Joint Album

Two of the biggest stars in music are teaming up for one epic project. Beyoncé and Jay Z are reportedly working on a joint album
Yes, you heard right. According to Dash Radio’s DJ Skee (via Just Jared), the superstar couple is in the studio recording all-new music.
While no official announcement has been made, sources close to the Carters tell Skee that the album is set for release in late 2014 or early 2015.
The power duo have collaborated numerous times in the past, but this would mark their first full-length project. Most recently, they scored a hit with “Drunk in Love” for Beyoncé’s self-titled album, while Mrs. Carter appears on “Part II (On the Run)” off Jay’s Magna Carta…Holy Grail.
The news comes after the Carters wrapped their co-headlining “On the Run Tour” in Paris over the weekend. The concert will air this Saturday on HBO.

Diddy Buys $40 Million House In L.A. | PHOTOS

Diddy drops $40 million on a 17,000 square foot mansion near Michael Jackson’s old home.
There are mansions, and then there are Diddy-style mansions. Yes, it’s no secret that the hip-hop mogul is in a league of his own when it comes to cash, and most recently, he’s used to it to purchase a 17,000 square foot mansion outside of L.A.
TMZ reports that the Bad Boy entrepreneur dropped $40 million on the estate, which was just built six months ago and is located in Holmby Hills (see map in the gallery above) very close to where Michael Jackson died.
According to TMZ, “The estate has 8 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The main house is 17,000 square feet with a 3,000 square foot guesthouse. And, there’s a separate spa house that has a steam room, massage room and beauty salon.”
