–Ex-international says Eagles star needs to play elsewhere
Former Nigeria international, Victor Ikpeba, has advised Jonh Mikel Obi to call it quit at Chelsea.
The former African Footballer of the Year said this on a DSTV programme, Monday Night Football monitored in Lagos that the Super Eagles star must think of playing for another club rather than wasting his time on bench at Stamford Bridge.
“Mikel should move on, he needs to go out where he can get more playing time,” says Ikpeba
“You can imagine how competitive his role is at the club, and he himself is apparently doing nothing to stage competition with the likes of Matic, Harzad among others.”
“Really, he needs to go out and show what he can do well elsewhere rather than making himself redundant at Chelsea.”

Mikel started his official football career at the age of 12 when picked as a talented footballer from over 3000 young talents to play in Pepsi Football Academy.
In the summer of 2005, the former Lyn Oslo star played for Nigeria at the FIFA World Youth Championships held in the Netherlands. He had an excellent tournament until Nigeria reached the final, where they lost 2–1 to Argentina. He also won the Silver Ball after being voted the tournament’s second best player behind Lionel Messi.
